Nauticam is dedicated to designing the finest underwater imaging products available. The new EMWL – Extended Macro Wide Lens – takes that innovation to the next level. The EMWL allows you to shoot macro, wide-angle and combine the styles to create images we only dreamed about previously!
The EMWL was built to work with many popular macro lenses and is optimized for both stills and video. It is a wet mount design so the lens can be attached and removed underwater. This increases the versatility of the entire system and other accessories like SMC and CMC macro converters can also be used.
It is a modular design with three individual pieces that make up the EMWL: the Focusing Unit, the Relay Module, and the Objective Lens. Nauticam has made components optimized to work with different camera brands and their macro lenses, as well as choices for four unique perspectives.

The EMWL Modules
1. Focusing Unit
There are three focusing units designed to work with the EMWL:
- #87201 EMWL Focusing Unit 1
- #87202 EMWL Focusing Unit 2
- #87203 EMWL Focusing Unit 3
Refer to the EMWL Port Chart for compatibility.
2. Relay Lens
The EMWL can be used with or without the relay lens.
Without the relay lens, you will have an inverted image, but the overall length of the EMWL will be approximately 6.5 inches (164.5mm) shorter.
The EMWL Angled Relay Lens can replace the standard relay lens (above) and allows for using objective lenses at an angle.
3. Objective Lens
There are four different versions with varying degrees of angle-of-view. Choose the one that works best for your aims, or all four.
- 60° #87221
- 100° #87222
- 130° #87223
- 160° #87226
Make sure you have the correct Focusing Unit for your system.
Note: The EMWL Port Chart tells you which EMWL Set to buy for your system. If you only want some modules rather than the whole set for your lens, the following key applies:
- EMWL Set #1: Use Focusing Unit 1
- EMWL Set #2: Use Focusing Unit 2
- EMWL Set #3: Use Focusing Unit 3
